Bring Her Back tells the story of Andy and his step sister Piper who, after the death of their father further strengthens their bond and find themselves hastily placed into the foster care system. Andy is not yet of legal age to apply for guardianship; he must wait three long months before he and Piper are able to move into their new place. Until then Andy must behave himself as Laura, an empathetic foster mom, who is coping with silent grief, offers to adopt them both into her secluded home in the woods. However, there is something off about the artificially benevolent guardian. There is a third child at the residence that is off and acts with self abusive violence. It becomes evident that without a doubt, Laura wants something so bad she can taste it. The problem is, she must never bend the rules or break the circle. But just how far is she willing to go to bring her daughter back from the dead?

This film is horrifyingly disturbing and plain gross, in an Evil Dead way. You end up really feeling for Andy and Piper who gets royally manipulated. The ending of this film is truly shocking.

If you are a true fan of gross, shocking, creepy, films this is the film for you. The only issue is this is an art house film, this it is a slow burn.

 

 

Review: Eyes of Wakanda

Eyes of Wakanda is a four part animated anthology series  about Wakandan warriors who, throughout history, have traveled the world to retrieve dangerous vibranium artifacts.

I really enjoyed this series and found it a very worthy inclusion to the world of Black Panther. This series is beautifully animated and is well written. I loved the humor in this series which was far better than the tongue in cheek stuff you usually find in a Marvel production. My favorite story beside the final episode was the one dealing with the fall of Troy and Acilles. Marvel animation is hit and miss, but this is truly excellent and I highly recommend it..

This time I'm reviewing the Sci Fi/ Action film Osiris. Osiris tells the story of Special Forces commandos are abducted mid-operation by a mysterious spacecraft and, upon awakening, find themselves prey to a relentless alien race in a fight for survival.

If you were looking for the next Impendence Day or Skyline, be prepared  to be royally disappointed.This film is a low budget action film with a bare bones plot and characters that are mostly there for target practice. It plays like a cheap shooter video game. Lots of blood and gore and zero story. The aliens are stereotypical videogame style creatures. Fx artist Todd Masters does what he can with what he’s stuck with and in the end it is not enough for this turd of a film Even having Linda Hamilton in the film didn’t  have any impact. In fact anyone could have played her part.

Obviously I cannot recommend this film unless you are drunk and smoking tons of pot. Then it would be a party!!!

After a young girl bursts into their home psychiatry practice claiming an entity is feeding on her, Jordan and her clairvoyant mother must find a way to stop the force before the girl is taken completely.

His is a really scary film. This film had good atmosphere with all the half light and shadow work. The story kept me on my toes. I found the empathy gift very interesting and how the mother could see supernatural beings. The creature design was also excellent and they used it very well. The characters in the film worked well I loved the relationship between the mother and daughter. The father of the infected girl was very intimadating. The loopy former patient added some good humor.

All together this was a very creepy good time with plenty of good jump scares, which I have no problem with. I highly recommend this film if you want scary paranormal fun without the stereotypical possession storyline.

"It Waits" is a suspenseful, horrifying tale of a Native American legend come to life. A creature trapped in the bowels of hell has been awoken and unleashed on the world. It prowls the wilderness, hunting a young, willful ranger named Danielle. Danielle is experiencing her own personal turmoil, having recently been responsible for the death of her best friend. Things go from bad to worse as Danielle realizes that she is not alone in the wilderness. There is a creature slowly stalking and hunting her. The creature claims the lives of the few people that may have been able to help Danielle, and all hope seems lost. She waits as the creature comes for her and desperately struggles for her life, but will her struggle be enough to ensure her survival?

This is a truly frightening tale in many ways like one of my favorite ghost films, 100 Feet but in a forest and with a monster. That actress that plays Dani does an excellent job getting the audience to connect to her and her crisis. This is a great film if you like action with your horror you will love this film. I highly recommend it.

Review: Bone Face (2025)

When a masked killer slaughters several campers in a small town, a sheriff and a deputy track the murderer to a local diner where, using their investigative skills, they must discover which person in the diner is the actual killer.

Art house films are very iffy affairs. They are either really good or really bad. The film in question is outstanding. This film plays like an episode of The Twilight Zone. A diverse group of people are in a diner when two cops arrive and then the real fun begins as these two sheriff officers must go through the suspects in order to find the masked serial killer who has already massacred two other summer camps.

Director Michael Donovan Horn does a brilliant just with this horror thriller. This film is loaded with well developed characters and some good performances, especially the two cops. Also, though there isn’t  a real onscreen body count there is still enough gore for slasher fans as well. This is just a plain good time for both slasher and mystery fans. I can highly recommend this one.

Review: Night Wolf

Night Wolf is a U.K art house film about a group of twenty-somethings who are having a few drinks in a barn at Sarah's house which is in the countryside of England. They are all enjoying themselves until the power goes off due to the storm outside. So they venture in to the mansion which is in a state of repair and find themselves being tracked through the house by a werewolf. They are in a world of trouble as it corners them in the attic. How are they going to get out of there, and will they all survive the  hours until morning?

Well, for one thing this film is very art house. The action in this film are far more restrained. Though we do get to know these characters unfortunately we really don’t care about any of them. Our main character, Sarah, is pretty muchin the process of abandoning her family and friends. Her older brother is a self absorbed asshole and her younger brother is an overly needy weakling. Her friends are the typical social asshole…well, except for her friend that was played by Tom Felton of Harry Potter fame, who comes off more as a Jay from Jay and Silent Bob-like character. Also Tom is only in the film for ten minutes before he is butchered off screen. That is another issue I had with this film is pretty much all the kills are either off screen or done in lightening cuts to the point you can’t make out what is happening.

Also, and majorly this is a werewolf film where you don’t see the damned werewolf till the end. I mean no clawed hand, no wolf eye shot, not even a flash of a head. What you get is a shit load of red colored POVs. Then when the werewolf is finally revealed the fucking thing is hairless and bares an annoying resemblance at that horrid werewolf in that embarrassing 2025 Wolfman remake. I’m  not kidding you. I swear that the director of that film saw this film and thought, “God, that is an outstanding design. I want to use that in my film!!!” shit!!! Bile is forming.

So, in conclusion, I can honestly say I’ve seen hundreds of worse werewolf films in my time. I’ve also seen a lot of brilliant werewolf films. This is not one of those. But it can be said it is far better than Wolfman 2025. That is at least something. As for me I cannot recommend it...
