Review: Hellraiser Hellworld (2005)
By William Pattison
This time I have yet another of those incredible direct to
video Hellraiser films…
A group of teenagers have become big fans of the latest
Hellraiser video game -- so much so that they create a tribute website called
"Hellworld.com," which simulates a digital Lament Configuration in
cyberspace. However, Pinhead is not at all happy with this turn of events, and
decides to take action against the them, luring them to a party where their
frightening fantasies become a far more disturbing reality.
This is yet another attempt by Dimension to reuse an unused script in their archive and
paste on Hellraiser elements to create a Frankenmovie.

The original script that became Hellworld was a
story about a father getting revenge on the kids who he blamed for the death of
his videogame adicted son. Nothing Hellraiser was involved in the film
originally and it really shows in the finished product. This film would be the
last film to feature Doug Bradley as Pinhead. The problem is the Pinhead
in this film doesn’t act at all like the
Cenobyte we know. This Pinhead is just a boring killer who doesn’t even
really tortures his victims. Pathetic. The real Cenobytes show up at the end
but Dimension actually used already used footage from Hellraiser Deader in this
film to save money. Pathetic.
If you are a Hellraiser fan, don’t waste
your time. Worse yet is the fact that this is the sad ending for Doug Bradley
as Pinhead. The reason why is because Dimension gave him a disgusting low
amount to play on this film and then offered him an insulting amount for the
next one.
So, as stated before, don’t waste your time.
This film is garbage and is in no way a true Hellraiser…
